Waverly High School’s Students Against Destructive Decisions held a mock DWI accident to warn students about the dangers of drinking and driving. Four students participated in Thursday’s reenactment of a fatal crash resulting from a drunk driver. 10th, 11th and 12th-graders looked on as the driver was arrested, paramedics pulled two people from a vehicle using the jaws of life and one other was put into a body bag. Even the participants were surprised by the intensity of the situation. Organizers emphasized this could just as easily have been a result of texting while driving, and urged students to make safe decisions while behind the wheel.
