The New York State Police also celebrated 100 years this weekend. Troop C Headquarters in Sidney host an open house on Saturday.There were numerous demonstrations for people of all ages. The New York State Police started in 1917 as a rural police agency, and now protect people statewide.Troop C responds to more than 45,000 calls and makes more than 4,000 criminal arrests each year.
