Sayre Borough has announced it’s looking to conduct a traffic study in the near future. Sayre officials say that an increase in traffic has led to increased congestion, vehicle emissions, and traffic safety concerns. Sayre is currently looking for qualified traffic engineering firms to submit Statements of Interest. Any firm chosen would be required to analyze several portions of roadway in Sayre at varying times throughout the day. In Sayre Borough’s official request, the municipality cites Robert Packer Hospital, Guthrie Clinic, the Sayre Area School District, and GE Railcar as some of the greatest traffic generators in that area.
