Sayre officials are working to keep traffic moving through the borough with a new parking layout. Officials have proposed the purchase of 200 new parking meters which will be placed around downtown. The new meters would allow commuters to park in one space for up to 90 minutes. The meters would charge $0.25 per fifteen minutes around Howard Elmer Park, and $0.25 per half hour throughout the rest of the borough. In addition, parking fines would be raised as a part of the plan. Residential parking permits, however, would be expanded. Sayre Borough officials will be meeting on October 24th at 4pm at Borough Hall to review the plan. The public is encouraged to attend.
