Charges are pending against a Sayre man who allegedly discharged a firearm in his apartment at Keystone Manor. Police were called to North Elmer Avenue to a report of shots fired, and police had to negotiate on the phone with 62-year-old James Carnrike before he surrendered without further incident. Carnrike lives in an apartment complex for elderly, handicapped and disabled people run by the Tioga Bradford Housing and Redevelopment Agency. Carnrike was transported to Robert Packer Hospital following the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Sayre Police were assisted by police departments from Athens Borough, Athens Township, and Waverly.
