New Yorker’s paid their final respects and laid to rest 36-year-old New York State Trooper Joel Davis over the weekend.
Trooper Davis was killed in the line of duty last Sunday night responding to the report of “shots fired” during a domestic dispute near Watertown. Police say he was met in the driveway by 32-year-old Fort Drum soldier Justin Walters who is now charged with murder. Walters’ 27-year-old wife Nichole was also killed; allegedly by Walters moments before Trooper Davis arrived on scene.
An estimated 5,000 police officers attended the funeral on Saturday.
