As the search for two convicted killers continues, the female prison worker accused of helping the inmates escape admits to having a sexual relationship with one of them. A law enforcement source said that Joyce Mitchell said she had sex multiple times with Richard Matt inside the maximum security prison. The Clinton County District Attorney has not confirmed a sexual relationship, but said Mitchell went a step further in her relationship with the two individuals. Mitchell is being held on charges in a Clinton County jail.
After the recent escape of Clinton Correctional Facility inmates, the New York Assembly is looking to pass legislation that would limit good behavior rewards for violent criminals. The two men who escaped had been allowed to work with civilians and wear civilian clothing, which they were wearing when they escaped. The new bill is being called the “Prisoner Privileges Limitations Law,” and is still currently only being discussed.
