The Sayre Area School District has announced that longtime Valley resident and veteran educator Michael Wells has been selected as its new superintendent.
Wells has over 20 years of experience in education, including most recently serving as an elementary school principal in Canton.
He will take over for former superintendent Dr. Jill Daloisio, who left the district on April 1 to take a position as assistant superintendent at the Twin Valley School District in Elverson, Pennsylvania.
Daloisio served as Sayre superintendent from 2019 to 2025.
Wells will officially take over as Sayre’s new superintendent on July 1.
