Teachers and students return to the Sayre Area School District today following the conclusion of a strike which began on April 12th. The Sayre Area Education Association initiated the strike after teacher contract negotiations with the school board had been ongoing for over three years. While a teacher contract has yet to be agreed upon by the education association and school board, state mandated mediations are set to begin within 5 days.
