UPDATE: A man has been charged with arson and murder after two children were killed in an early morning fire in Johnson City today. Two children, ages three and four, were killed when they were trapped on the third floor of a home at 145 Floral Ave. in a fire that was reported around 2am. Two adults were also home at the time of the fire and severely burned. They were taken to Syracuse for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
Johnson City Police announced this afternoon that they have arrested 38-year-old Dwight Burton of the village and charged him with intentionally setting the fire. Police did not release a motive and also did not identify the victims of the fire.
