Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf began presenting his budget proposal to state lawmakers yesterday. In his address, Governor Wolf says that the state is facing a $2 Billion budget deficit. The governor’s budget proposal would include a $2.7 Billion increase in spending and an 11% increase in personal income tax. A tax of 6.5% would also be imposed on natural gas drillers. Governor Wolf’s proposal still needs to be approved by lawmakers, but is expected to receive significant resistance.
