The Binghamton School District presented a plant to the public on Monday night to upgrade their facilities. District leaders say that the plan will not have any impact on taxpayers, and the top priority in the plan is to improve safety in the schools’ buildings. New camera and lock systems to protect students and staff are among the proposed upgrades. The $12 million proposal would also call for repairs to buildings and athletic fields. The referendum would need a supermajority to pass because it will be sending the district over its debt limit. Another public hearing will be held on March 10th.
