Construction at Binghamton’s new MacArthur Elementary School is set to begin in January, and area residents who use the nearby walking track will need to find a new place to get in their exercise. The area to the west of the parking lot at the edge of the school’s property includes the track and field areas, and that area will be under construction from January through August of 2015. Demolition of the flood-damaged building started this month, and the area has been roped off with construction tape but remains open to the public until the beginning of next year.
