It’s graduation weekend at Binghamton University, as the school will hand out nearly 3,700 degrees during commencement ceremonies at the Events Center. Each school at BU will hold their own ceremony, with the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences holding three different ceremonies to accommodate all of their graduates. Master’s and doctoral candidates will be recognized at the Graduate School ceremony Friday. The school has four featured commencement speakers this year, headlined by sports broadcaster and writer Tony Kornheiser, a 1970 BU graduate. Other speakers include award-winning author and playwright Nathan Englander, retired AOL executive Geraldine MacDonald, and Easter Island archaeologist Sergio Rapu Haoa. Ceremonies will be held Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Receptions will be held in residential communities at 5pm Friday.
