Girls Lacrosse: Maine-Endwell Defeats OFA for Class C Championship 13 – 9

Maine-Endwell needed a stellar second half to defeat the Owego Free Academy girls Lacrosse team Wednesday in the Section 4 Class C final.
The final score was 13 – 9.
The one goal game was broken open by Maine-Endwell early in the second half.
With M-E leading 4 -3, Senior Caroline Grosso and sophomore Alexis Garberino combined for five goals in 80 seconds to lift Maine-Endwell into a solid lead.
OFA, down at one point by 12 – 5, continued to fight, closing the gap to 12 – 8.
OFA could get no closer than the four goal deficit.
Andrea Zlinsky, Lexi Hilliker and Ally Zlinsky each had two goals for Owego.
Caroline Grosso finished the game with five goals; Alexis Garbarino had four more.
Maine-Endwell goalie Colleen George had 11 saves; OFA’s Emily Edwards had 17.
Maine-Endwell will advance to play the yet undetermined Section 3 champion on June 2nd at West Genesee High school. Game time is 6PM.
