School budgets were voted on across New York State yesterday, and locally all of the proposed budgets passed. Every district proposed an increase in school tax, but the lowest was the Owego-Apalachin School district with only a 1% increase. Binghamton, Union-Endicott, and Newark Valley weren’t far behind with roughly a 2% proposed tax increase. Vestal was closer to 3%, while Candor will be 3.5%. Other districts were even higher. Tioga Central will pay a 5% increase next year, while Windsor and Maine-Endwell School tax payers will see the highest increase in the area at 6%.
