Kristen Willets of Apalachin, plans to sign a letter of intent to accept a volleyball scholarship from Le Moyne College in Syracuse.
The signing will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, in the lobby of the Vestal High School, 205 Woodlawn Drive, Vestal.
Part of a Golden Bears winning team that captured STAC and Section IV Class A championships in 2008, 2009 and 2010, Willets was a STAC All-Conference Player for those years as well.
She earned a spot on the 2nd Team at the NYS All-State games and was named the Press & Sun-Bulletin’s Athlete of the week in 2009.
In 2010, Willets made the 3rd Team for NYS All-State and received the Coaches Award.
A varsity volleyball player for three years, she spent a year on the varsity track team and five years with the Vestal Travel Volleyball Club.
In addition, she was part of the Win City Travel Volleyball Team for the past two years and a member of the Iroquois-Empire
Volleyball Association (IREVA) when it played in the U.S.A. Volleyball High Performance championships in Wisconsin last year.
A three-year Scholar Athlete and member of the National Honor Society, Willets has also been on the Honor Roll for her entire high school career.
In addition to joining the Dolphins volleyball squad, she intends to major in Elementary Education at Le Moyne.
