Governor Cuomo announced yesterday 70 million dollars in funding for 68 bicycle and pedestrian projects in the State of New York. That includes more than 212,000 dollars for the Village of Newark Valley for Whig Street Pedestrian Improvements. The projects throughout the state include the addition of accessible sidewalks, improved pedestrian access to public transportation services, construction of new bicycle and pedestrian facilities and the preservation and conversion of abandoned railroad corridors for trail use. The funds are made available to the State through the Federal Highway Administration and are administered by the State Department of Transportation.
