An Amber Alert for a missing girl and her alleged abductor has been canceled. Pennsylvania State police activated New York’s AMBER Alert for what was a confirmed child abduction Thursday evening. 39-year-old Peter Tarbox, has since been taken into custody. According to police, 10-year-old Alexandra Jade Long, was taken from her home on Oak Street in Gordon Pa., which is south of Scranton. Police say Tarbox was a stranger to the young girl, but a friend of her mother’s. The suspect, Tarbox, was believed to be heading to Norwood, N.Y. in St. Lawrence County and was last seen traveling north on Interstate 81 near Syracuse in a green Saab.
