Billy Landry, 49, a drilling worker from Texas, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of his landlord in their Tioga County, Pennsylvania home.
The jury deliberated for nearly two days.
Landry testified that he stabbed his former landlord 44 year old Shawn Miller five times in self defense last November.
Under an involuntary manslaughter charge, the jury is saying that Landry did not intentionally kill Miller but instead acted with recklessness and neglect.
Landry faces up to five years in prison for the manslaughter charge.
He remains in Tioga County Jail without bail, pending his sentence.
