Firefighters responded to a large fire at the Brackney Inn, in Susquehanna County Friday afternoon. Police say an upstairs tenant reported a fire in his apartment and ran to the restaurant for help.
The tenant then attempted to grab a fire extinguisher, but was not able to get back up the stairs because of heavy smoke.
According to authorities, all tenants and patrons at the restaurant were able to get out of the building without injury.The building’s second-floor sustained major fire damage, while the restaurant area sustained heavy smoke and water damage.The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
