The Cortland County Sheriff’s Department makes arrests in connection to the possession and use of fake cash. Saturday afternoon, the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department was called to Lil Treat Shoppe on Route 11. It was reported that fake $20 bills were being used. A short distance from the scene, 37-year-old Richard Small, of Cortland and 22-year-old Bronson Marshall, of McGraw were arrested for criminal possession of a forged instrument. 23-year-old Rhonda Ripley, of Cortland was also arrested, and charged with 11 counts of a forged instrument. Ripley received one count for each $20 bill she had on her. Small and Marshall were arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville court where they remain with no bail until 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Ripley was arraigned and held on $1000 bail.
