Governor Andrew Cuomo accepted his party’s nomination for governor at the Democratic Party convention on Long Island. Cuomo will be seeking a third term, but he faces a primary challenge from popular New York City actress Cynthia Nixon. Cuomo looked past the primary and focused his acceptance speech on Republican candidate Marc Molinaro, who is currently the Dutchess County Executive, and received the republican nomination for the Governor’s race this Fall.
