New York’s highest court has ruled that people who live only-part time in the state are also able to get handgun licenses. Pistol permits, which are issued by cities or counties, are not limited to peoples whose primary residence is New York, according to the state’s Court of Appeals. The ruling comes after a judge denied a man’s license application back in 2008 because his primary home was in Louisiana. The Court of Appeals judges unanimously declined to rule on whether the state law was unconstitutional.
