An ESPN report says both the men’s basketball and football programs at Syracuse University are under investigation by the NCAA. The allegations against SU reportedly go back at least ten years and include providing extra benefits to student-athletes and academic issues. Reports are that SU will meet with the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions October 30-31 at NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis. The report says most of the allegations involve the Orange men’s basketball team. The SU football team is apparently also being looked at for possibly providing extra benefits for a short time period, but not since Doug Marrone took over as head coach in 2009.
