Buffalo-based First Niagara Financial Group has announced it will be closing 10 branches and eliminating 170 jobs. The positions will be cut throughout the group’s four-state territory. The job reductions come as a result of the bank moving administrative duties out of its branches. Laid-off employees will be invited to apply for other jobs within the company.
