A Horseheads woman is dead following a shooting in a wooded area. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office says that 42-year-old Tiffany Crossett was found deceased just before 5pm on Friday. As a result of their initial investigation, deputies say that Crossett and two other individuals had been shooting firearms in the woods behind a home. Alcohol is believed to have contributed. The investigation is ongoing.
