A Bangs ambulance was hit by a van in Ithaca Sunday afternoon. Police said the accident happened just after 1 p.m. on the corner of West Green and Plain Streets. According to investigators, a Honda van tried to make a left hand turn from the right lane. The ambulance tried to avoid the collision and ended up hitting a metal pole. The van ended up running into a porch. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt. The ambulance was not responding to an emergency call at the time of the crash.
