An Ithaca man has been charged with assault after he was arrested Tuesday for allegedly beating someone up over a $20 debt. 44-year-old James Terry, Jr. is accused of first attacking the victim last week and then threatening the same person on Tuesday. During the initial altercation, the victim suffered a broken nose and multiple contusions. Police were called Tuesday and were able to arrest the suspect following a struggle. He is facing charges of assault in the second degree and resisting arrest.
