Carl Edwards led 144 laps of the 200 lap Nascar Nationwide race in Chicago, but ran out of gas approaching the finish line.
Justin Algaier passed Edwards before running out of gas himself.
Algaier coasted across the finish line, follow by Edwards, who was also coasting.
Trevor Bayne finished third in the first race back from serious illness.
Bayne had plenty of gas, but was too far back to reel in Algaier and Edwards.
Danica Patrick had a fine tenth place finish.
