The New York State Assembly has passed the New York State budget. The agreement includes increases for state and municipal transportation projects, including a $75 million increase from the executive’s budget for CHIPS and Funding for Roads. This is a 21 percent increase from last year’s budget and will help local governments improve infrastructure. The last time New York increased its CHIPS funding was in 2008. The budget now moves on to the governor’s office. The deadline for his signature is Monday.
