Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a suspect they say robbed the Montrose Beer and Deli in Susquehanna County. It happened just before 10 pm Tuesday at the store, formerly known as Lockhart’s Deli, on State Route 29 in Bridgewater Township. According to troopers, an unidentified man entered the store and held the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect stole more than $1,000 from the register. He then got into a waiting vehicle, a small SUV, possibly a dark-colored Jeep Liberty, and fled the scene at a high rate of speed. While heading south on SR 29 toward Tunkhannock, the SUV hit another car traveling in the opposite direction. The SUV then fled the crash scene. Nobody was injured. In a press release, troopers described the suspect as a white male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, a black bandana covering his face and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at (570) 465-3154.
