The Hallstead, Pennsylvania man found guilty of voluntary manslaughter was sentenced in Susquehanna County Court. 47-year-old Lloyd Thomas was sentenced to six to 12 years in prison, followed by eight years of probation for the voluntary manslaughter of Gilberto Alvarez, and he will serve a concurrent sentence of six to 12 years for the voluntary manslaughter of Joshua Rogers. Thomas shot and killed both men when they were on his father’s property in Great Bend Township. He said he shot Alvarez because he believed he was armed. Thomas was found guilty of the charges against him in January.
