Police are searching for a man who may be involved in two armed robberies in the Southern Tier Tuesday evening. Corning police confirm one of the robberies happened at Dark Tan on Pulteney Street in Corning just before 8PM; another robbery was reported at the Maurices store next to Best Buy in Big Flats around 9PM. Police have not confirmed if the two robberies are related. The suspect is described as a white male with a moustache, wearing glasses, a ski mask, blue puffy jacket and jeans, and an earring in his left ear. He’s described as 5’8″ tall, with an average build. He reportedly followed an employee of Maurices behind the counter and demanded cash, before fleeing the store with approximately $900. The weapon involved was a silver knife with a 12 inch blade.
