With Winter Storm Stella here, the American Red Cross is warning local residents to remain safe with several tips. Before going outside and shoveling or using the snow blower, please make sure you are wearing enough warm clothing and that you are physically fit enough to do the task. Anyone that is able is asked to check on your elderly neighbors. All pets should be brought inside, and make sure heating equipment is vented outside. A small trickle of water from faucets can keep pipes from freezing. More tips are available on the Red Cross website at www.redcross.org.
