Reed Sorenson won Saturday’s Nascar Nationwide race in a wild finish.
On the third Green-White Checker attempt, a yellow flag came out on the white flag lap with Justin Algaier in the lead.
No sooner had Algaier congratulated his crew on the win, he ran out of gas.
Meanwhile, Ron Fellows had passed Reed Sorenson, under yellow, just as Algaier ran out of gas.
Nascar quickly ruled that Fellows had made an improper pass, and Sorenson was declared the winner.
Former Formula 1 driver Jacque Villeneuve caused an accident by trying to pass on the grass during a restart, taking out Max Papis and Brian Scott.
Kevin Harvick commented on Twitter “No respect here in NASCAR for @27villeneuve same reason they kicked his dumbass out of f1.. That is why @27villeneuve should just quit driving NASCAR no sense..i hope @maxpapis punches his dumbass in the mouth..”.
After the race, Scott bumped Villeneuve on pit road, and Max Papis stopped at his pit to exchange pleasantries.
Wild race.
