A Susquehanna County home suffered major damage following a house fire. The call came in around 12:15 p.m. Monday for a fire in Liberty Township near Hallstead. No one was injured. A woman was home at the time, but escaped safely. Firefighters had difficulty containing the burning home because of a lack of water in the area. Crews used several tanker trucks to shuttle water from a nearby pond to the home. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Snake Creek, Hallstead, Montrose, Conklin and Kirkwood fire departments all responded to the scene.
