Syracuse Defeats UConn 66 – 58

In a must win game, Syracuse found a way to beat 7th ranked UConn at the XL Center in Hartford.
That ended the losing streak at four; Jim Boeheim has never had a five game losing streak in his 35 years coaching Syracuse.
Adding to the pressure on the Orange, they had not defeated UConn since 1999 when playing in Connecticut.
Rick Jackson led the Orange with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Triche had 16 points for SU.
The teams matched each other all the way. Syracuse had a one point lead at the half, 26 – 25.
They were within 3 with 51 seconds remaining in the game; Syracuse pulled away from there.
Syracuse will play next at the University of South Florida at Saturday.
That game will be broadcast on WEBO.
