Nineteen year old Trevor Bayne has been named to drive the #21 Wood Brothers Ford in the opening five races the Nascar Sprint Cup season.
He’ll then make selected appearances throughout the rest of the year.
Bayne is expected to make 17 starts, and possibly more. Crew chief Donnie Wingo will lead the Team.
Bayne made his Cup debut at Texas Motor Speedway last fall.
He made the race based on qualifying speed and finished 17th.
NASCAR’s data shows that Bayne passed 140 cars during that race and was passed only 104 times, best among the 43 starters in that race.
