Two Chenango County men have been charged with multiple felonies after authorities say one of the men sold a stolen gun to an undercover cop. Police arrested 29-year-old Eric Nelson of Afton and 29-year-old Rory Tanner of Coventry on Saturday. According to the sheriff’s office, the two men stole an AR-15 and a 12-gauge shotgun from a home on Tracy Road in Bainbridge. The men sold the AR-15, and allegedly sold the shotgun to an undercover police officer in Coventry. The sheriff’s office says deputies also found hypodermic needles, spoons, and heroin residue at the scene of the crime. Both men face are facing numerous charges, including Nelson’s counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Tanner is also facing a burglary charge in addition to charges for stolen property and hypodermic instruments. Both men were sent to the Chenango County Jail. Additional charges for both men are pending.
