The boy who was rescued from the Susquehanna River near Conklin last night has died of drowning. The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 7-year-old as Connor Brown. He fell into the river just before 6pm and became trapped under ice in the area of 132 Stillwater Road. The boy was rescued 15-20 minutes later by Conklin firefighters and taken to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. The sheriff’s office is still investigating the incident.
