The Whitney Point school bus that tipped over on Monday was initially pulled over due to a disturbance on the bus. The incident took place on Driscoll Road, when the driver of the bus, 49-year-old Cheryl Maxson, had to pull onto the shoulder due to a student causing a disturbance by punching and kicking the seats around him. Once Maxson pulled onto the shoulder, the bus partially sank into the snow and tipped over toward its right side, coming to rest on a utility pole and suffering minor damage. A few students suffered minor bruises and were released from the scene. Police continue to investigate.
