Tonight on News Radio WEBO, we get into the Halloween Spirit, with our annual Halloween Show beginning at 6pm. It features two hours of Halloween themed songs and entertainment hosted by Igor. Then at 8 o’clock tonight, we pay homage to the 75th anniversary of a radio broadcast that sent Americans into a panic. On October 30, in 1938 “War of the Worlds” aired on CBS radio. The broadcast, starring Orson Welles, gave a rendition of the H.G. Well’s science fiction novel. When it aired originally, despite Welles gave warning at the beginning of the broadcast, many Americans still panicked believing there was a real alien invasion. Tune in tonight to hear this great piece of American radio history on News Radio WEBO.
