Jim Boeheim will remain as the head coach of the Syracuse men’s basketball team for at least the next few seasons after signing an extension yesterday. He had planned to retire following next season, but those plans changed when longtime assistant coach Mike Hopkins was named the new head coach for the Washington Huskies yesterday one day after the Orange ended their season with a loss to Ole Miss. Syracuse also announced that assistants Adrian Autry and Gerry McNamara will stay on staff with Autry promoted to associate head coach.
