Three Olympians were in Owego on Saturday to give back to the sport they love. Swimmers Tim Phillips, Scott Weltz and gold-medalist Lauren Perdue taught a clinic to more than 100 kids at the Owego Free Academy. It was part of the “Fitter and Faster” swim tour. OFA chose to have the clinic focus on the breast stroke and freestyle. The young swimmers also worked on body positioning, practice drills and rhythm. “Fitter and Faster” has been running swim clinics for five years and works with aspiring swimmers of all ages and skill levels. The clinics are run all over the US.
