The 2016 high school football season begins Friday and we will broadcast two games for opening weekend. Our season begins at Owego Friday night as the Indians host Newark Valley. The two Tioga County teams are traditional rivals, but haven’t played since 2014 when the Cardinals came out on top. Our coverage will begin with the WEBO Pregame Show at 6:45pm. Saturday, we will be in Chenango Forks as they host Tioga in a battle of defending state champions. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30pm and our pregame show will start at 1:15. The Syracuse University football season also begins Friday with a home game against Colgate. The Orange have a new slogan, “Orange is the New Fast,” which they use to describe the up-tempo, no-huddle spread offensive attack of Coach Dino Babers. Syracuse returns eight starters on the offensive side of the ball and 12 players that started at least four games on the defense. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm in the Carrier Dome. We will carry all of the Syracuse football games on WEBO once again this year. Coverage of Friday’s game will begin after our high school broadcast of Owego and Newark Valley.
