Marquette Ends Syracuse's Season 66 – 62

Marquette outscored Syracuse 19- 5 at the foul line, which proved too much for the Orange to overcome.
The Orange were defeated by 11th seeded Marquette 66 – 62 ending their season.
Syracuse jumped to an early lead and were up by 10 points halfway through the first half.
Marquette chipped away to take a three point lead at the half, 34 – 31.
The second half was tight throughout with the score within three points into the final minute.
With the score tied at 59, Darius Johnson-Odom broke the game open with a long three point jumper with 27 seconds left in the game.
That pretty much ended the game.
Marquette double teamed Rick Jackson frequently, and held him to 7 points.
Brandon Triche suffered a leg injury and was missed down the stretch.
Odom led Marquette with 17 points.
