The sport’s most popular driver has announced that he will retire at the end of this season. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. made the announcement this morning. He has struggled this season in his return from a season-ending concussion last year. Our partners from MRN and PRN will have more on this news in today’s NASCAR Fix at 6. Jimmie Johnson won yesterday’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway that was heard live on WEBO. The seven-time series champion passed Kevin Harvick with 21 laps to go and held on for his second career win at Bristol. With the victory, he becomes the first driver this year to win back-to-back races. The race was postponed from Sunday by heavy rain in Tennessee. Both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Monster Energy Cup will race in Richmond this weekend.
