The Seton Catholic Central girls basketball team can now say they are the best in New York after crushing the two downstate champions in the state’s Federation Tournament. The Saints demolished Long Island’s Aquinas 83-43 yesterday at the Glens Falls Civic Center to wrap up a 28-1 season. After losing to Susquehanna Valley in December, the Saints reeled off 26 straight victories to end their season. With yesterday’s win, Seton becomes the second in Section 4 girls basketball history to win the Federation championship, joining the 1997-98 Oneonta team. Senior Lexi Levy was named Federation Tournament MVP. She will be continuing her career at George Washington next year.
