Syracuse Defeats Indiana State 77 – 60 in NCAA Tournament

Rick Jackson had a season high 23 points in leading Syracuse to a first round win over Indiana State in the NCAA Tournament.
Indiana State played with heart, but the Orange were just too much for them.
They got to within four points 42 – 38 with 15:56 to play, but Syracuse promptly pulled away again.
The Orange had a serious scare with three minutes remaining.
Scoop Jardine had a hard fall and injured his left wrist. he remained in the game briefly but soon left in obvious pain.
In the post game interview, the wrist was wrapped in ice, but Jardine said he would be OK.
Jardine had 9 points, 9 assists, and 3 steals.
Kris Joseph contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Jake Kelly had 12 points for Indiana State.
The game finished at 12:41AM Saturday.
Syracuse will play Marquette on Sunday at 7:45PM in a third-round game.
The Golden Eagles won the regular-season matchup between the schools, 76-70 in Milwaukee.
